  • Mobilities of creativity

    Open Access•Anna Y Zhang, Amy id_orcid Zhang•ARTICLE•Social & Cultural Geography•2026•Referencias: 44

This paper bridges geographical scholarship on the global mobilities of policy concepts related to culture and creativity and that on the mobilities of artists and creative practitioners to analyse the roles that geographically mobile artists and creative practitioners can play in policy mobilities. • Exploring the meaning of campus through lived experiences of students, staff, and visitors

James Thompson, Marian Mahat et al.•ARTICLE•Higher Education Research &…•2025

University campuses are important places of cultural, intellectual, and economic capital, making significant contributions to their surrounding communities. As institutions seek to navigate changing expectations for university teaching, learning, research and impact, an exploration of the interface of individual experience and the campus environment is both timely and valuable. This is especially true amidst the post-pandemic push to reenergize t…

  • Placing Arts Districts within Markets

    Open Access•Anna Y Zhang, Amy Y Zhang•ARTICLE•International Journal of Urban…•2019•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 49

This article examines the dual role of arts districts as places situated simultaneously in the urban land and art markets. It highlights the need for research into arts districts to take this dual role into account, as well as the impact that the two markets can have on these places. While the impact of the art market on land values in arts districts has been studied in some cases of art-led gentrification, there has been limited consideration of…

  • China’s metropolises in transformation

    George C S Lin, Anna Y Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Geography•2016•Citada por: 13•Referencias: 6

Existing theory of urban transformation under neoliberalization describes cities as the institutional arena in and through which neoliberal strategies of urbanism emanate and are contested. Emphasis is placed on the interaction between state and market without paying adequate attention to their internal dynamics. This study of urban transformation in the Beijing metropolis identifies a distinct trajectory whereby commodification of urban land has…

The research identifies a complex, diverse and self-conflicting internal dynamics that characterised the Chinese state, reveals the political and financial motives of local governments to engage in urbanism and maps out the emerging…

  • Discord of measurements in assessing depression among African Americans with cancer diagnoses

    Anna Y Zhang, Franklin Gary•ARTICLE•International Journal of Culture…•2011•Referencias: 4

Measurement discord may be explained by African American's reporting behavior that varies from a self-reported measure to an interviewer-administrated measure of depression. African American patients showed a reluctance to use the word "depression" and a tendency to report sleep disturbance. The findings suggest that accurately assessing depression in these patients requires a consideration of their culturally shaped life experiences

  • Family and Cultural Correlates of Depression Among Chinese Elderly

    Open Access•Anna Y Zhang, Amy Y Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Social…•1997
