Die Ergebnisse des Deutschen Freiwilligensurveys 2014 zeigen, dass sich heute ein großer Anteil der Wohnbevölkerung Deutschlands im Alter ab 14 Jahren freiwillig engagiert. Der Anteil Engagierter ist in den letzten fünfzehn Jahren deutlich angestiegen, von 34,0 auf 43,6 Prozent. In den letzten fünfzehn Jahren ist die Engagementquote also um insgesamt knapp zehn Prozentpunkte angestiegen
