Contrasting social positioning theory and Archer's morphogenetic/morphostatic approach
Social positioning theory and the morphogenetic/morphostatic approach of Margaret Archer are compared. The differences identified are found mostly to reflect contrasts in objectives and orientations. But not all do. Those that do not, I argue, result from an effective absence of an account of the community and its place in social constitution in the morphogenetic/morphostatic approach.
