  • Boomerang Young Adults in Seoul, South Korea

Open Access•Gum-Ryeong Park, Jiawei Wu•ARTICLE•Population Space and Place•2026

Leaving the parental home is a key transition to adulthood. However, recent sociodemographic changes have produced more diverse residential pathways such as delayed home‐leaving or returning to the parental home (‘boomerang movers’). While prior research has focused on the characteristics and determinants of these patterns, few studies have examined how various residential pathways are related to trajectories of health and social attitudes in Kor…

  • Racial Differences in Sleep Outcomes in the First Two Years of College

Open Access•Tiffany Yip, Kyle Lorenzo et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Racial and Ethnic…•2026

This study investigated trajectories of ethnic and racial sleep disparities during the first two years of college, focusing on several dimensions of sleep. Ethnically and racially diverse first-year college students ( n = 451; Asian = 19%, Black = 15%, Latinx = 19%, multiracial = 23%, White = 24%; female = 76%, male = 22%, non-binary = 2%) wore wrist actigraphs for two weeks every semester for four semesters. Findings suggest that across differen…

  • ABHNet

Open Access•Zhanwu Zhuang, Ning Li et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2026

Building height is a key indicator of vertical urbanization and urban morphological complexity, yet accurately mapping building height at fine spatial resolution and large spatial scales remains challenging. This study proposes an attention-based deep learning framework (ABHNet) for building height estimation at a 10 m spatial resolution by integrating multi-source remote sensing data and socioeconomic information. The model jointly exploits Sent…

  • Impact of different cryotherapy interventions on post-exercise acute delayed-onset muscle soreness, athletic performance, and inflammatory biomarkers

Open Access•Jiawei Wu, Anjie Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Sports and Active…•2026

Background Cryotherapy is a widely used physical recovery modality in post-exercise settings; however, systematic evidence identifying the optimal cryotherapy modality based on continuous time-course outcome assessments remains limited. Methods To investigate the comparative effectiveness of different cryotherapy modalities—whole-body cryotherapy (WBC), cold water immersion (CWI), contrast water therapy (CWT), and local cold therapy (LCT)—on dela…

  • Influencing factors of depressive symptoms during pregnancy in Beijing, China

Open Access•Xiayue He, Xiaoqian Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

Future directives should emphasize the enhancement of screening for depressive symptoms among pregnant individuals with greater parity and BMIs, alongside encouraging continued employment and flexible job selection. It is imperative to implement suitable intervention strategies for pregnant individuals exhibiting depressive symptoms to mitigate the incidence of adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes

  • Systematic analysis of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions provides new insights into drug combination therapy for pox

    Open Access•Jiawei Wu, Dianjing Guo•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

Through the analysis of 2344 prescriptions for pox treatment, we obtained a comprehensive library of the most used herbs and high-frequency compounds, along with their potential functional spectrum. These libraries served as raw resources for drug combination development, while the identified symptom patterns and specific herbs greatly enhanced our insight into diverse treatments for pox patients

  • Family-work history and inequalities in old-age cognition in China

    Open Access•Jiawei Wu, Guillaume Marois•ARTICLE•Social Science & Medicine•2025•Referencias: 74

Prior work showed that an individual's history of partnership, fertility, or employment was separately linked to old-age cognition, but little is known about how family-work history influences later-life cognition, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Our sample comprised respondents aged 50 and above in 2014 interviewed in regular (2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020) and life-history (2014) waves of the China Health and Retirement Longi…

  • Enhancing Maritime Navigational Safety

Open Access•Mingze Li, Bing Li et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

Predicting ship trajectories plays a vital role in ensuring navigational safety, preventing collision incidents, and enhancing vessel management efficiency. The integration of advanced machine learning technology for precise trajectory prediction is emerging as a new trend in sophisticated geospatial applications. However, the complexity of the marine environment and data quality issues pose significant challenges to accurate ship trajectory fore…

  • Education Policies and Intergenerational Educational Mobility in China

    Open Access•Jiawei Wu, Guillaume Marois•ARTICLE•Population Research and Policy…•2024•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 42

Research on educational mobility for Chinese born in or before 1976–85 abounds. Although the Compulsory Education Law implemented in 1986 and the expansion of higher education introduced in 1999 changed Chinese millennials’ educational achievements, little is known about the educational mobility for the 1986–95 birth cohort and where it stands in the long-term trends. In this study, we calculated population-level educational percentile ranks by b…

  • M&A Activities and Changes in Corporate Control across Chinese Cities

    Jiawei Wu, Y D Wei et al.•ARTICLE•The Professional Geographer•2022

This study examines spatial shifts across Chinese cities between 2002 and 2018 in corporate control due to mergers and acquisitions (M&As), which are important for the Chinese urban system based on the command-and-control criteria. Descriptive results indicate that the spatial reallocation of corporate control in China has been largely dominated by metropolises, provincial capitals, and urban agglomerations. Evidence of geographical dispersion of…

  • Red-Light-Running Crashes’ Classification, Comparison, and Risk Analysis Based on General Estimates System (GES) Crash Database

Open Access•Yuting Zhang, Xuedong Yan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Red-light running (RLR) has been identified as one of the prominent contributing factors involved in signalized intersection crashes. In order to reduce RLR crashes, primarily, a better understanding of RLR behavior and crashes is needed. In this study, three RLR crash types were extracted from the general estimates system (GES), including go-straight (GS) RLR vehicle colliding with go-straight non-RLR vehicle, go-straight RLR vehicle colliding w…

Open Access•Xuedong Yan, Jiali Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2016

Speeding is a major contributing factor to traffic crashes and frequently happens in areas where there is a mutation in speed limits, such as the transition zones that connect urban areas from rural areas. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of an in-vehicle audio warning system and lit speed limit sign on preventing drivers' speeding behavior in transition zones. A high-fidelity driving simulator was used to establish a roadw…
