  • Differentiated Carbon Stabilization Pathways Reveal Cropland Promotes Maoc in the Yellow River Sediment‐Affected Area

Open Access•Ran Wang, Junhua Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions play a crucial role in regulating biogeochemical cycles and carbon sequestration processes. However, in ecologically fragile regions such as the Yellow River sediment‐affected area, the long‐term dynamics and turnover mechanisms of particulate organic carbon (POC) and mineral‐associated organic carbon (MAOC) under different land‐use types remain unclear. Based on the 2013 and 2023 field samples, we examined pla…

Open Access•Yu Zhou, Nanjian Yang et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

In traditional binary classification tasks, learning algorithms conventionally distinguish positive and negative samples by leveraging fully labeled training data. However, in practical applications, there frequently arises a scenario where only a small number of positive samples and a large volume of unlabeled data exist, with the latter potentially containing a mix of positive and negative instances. This situation is known as positive-unlabele…

  • Examining Ecology–Agriculture–Economy Nexus Shifts to Propose Win–Win–Win Pathways for Sustainable Development in Mountainous Areas

Open Access•Ran Wang, Chong Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2025

Ecosystem restoration projects (ERPs) are effective methods for reversing land degradation. However, the dynamic responses of the ecology–agriculture–economy nexus to ERPs and socioeconomic development have yet to be systematically analyzed. To address this issue, we adopted an ERP hotspot as a basis for exploring the evolution regimes of sectoral variables and their determinants. ERPs facilitated vegetation restoration and strengthened carbon se…

  • Unveiling the impacts of winter Atlantic Niño/Niña on the Enso decay pace

Open Access•Ran Wang, Lin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2025

El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is the pronounced interannual variability with tremendous impacts on global climates. As varying ENSO decay pace results in significantly different climate impacts, understanding the factors responsible for ENSO decay is vital for improving the prediction of ENSO evolution and its climate effects. Here we show the sea surface temperature variability peaking in boreal winter over the equatorial Atlantic, dubbed …

    Open Access•Ran Wang•ARTICLE•Qualitative Sociology•2024•Referencias: 34

Research on cultural production has recognized that artistic creation, especially fandom subcultures, depends on social interaction within artworlds. Yet less research has examined how creative production functions when exogenous social forces disrupt key forms of interaction. This study leverages the case of Chinese fanfiction writers' response when state censorship interrupts and threatens fanfiction writing to better understand the vulnerabili…

Open Access•Ran Wang, Cuixia An et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2017

Leukocyte telomere length (LTL) is a predictor of age-related diseases, cancer, and even early mortality. Prenatal stress experience has been suggested to associate with short LTL and an increased disease risk in adult life. The present study aimed to evaluate the 39-year effects of prenatal earthquake stress (PES) exposure on LTL and increased age-related disease risk in adulthood. Here, we compared the LTL in the subjects who were exposed to PE…

  • Greenhouse Gas Emission Inefficiency Spillover Effects in European Countries

    Open Access•Levent Kutlu, Ran Wang•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

In our study, we examine whether spatial spillover effects exist for greenhouse gas emission efficiency for 38 European countries between 2005 and 2014. We find that inefficiencies of other countries would lead to lower efficiency levels for a country. This negative inefficiency spillover effect goes down till 2008 then goes up till 2011, then stays relatively stable after 2011. Any strategy to reduce inefficiencies of other countries could poten…
