The experience of gambling problems in British professional footballers
Media reports suggest high rates of gambling amongst professional footballers but little is known about how footballers develop and then seek help for gambling problems. Policy and practice has traditionally focused on improving adherence, assuming that the more patients comply, the better their control and outcomes will be. Data from a sample (n = 145) of low-income Mexican-American mothers and their toddlers (9–26 months) were used to explore the prevalence of high-frequency book-sharing (⩾3 days/week) and its association with maternal immigrant status (Mexico-born vs US-born), as well as other demographic and psychosocial factors. Conjoint Time-Budgeting
Thirty married couples reported their activity patterns over a typical month by allocating twelve activity categories to a time-based strip chart. This was done independently by husbands and wives.
