An evaluation of a juvenile court volunteer program
A longitudinal study of the impact of three separate volunteer programs working with juvenile delinquents was undertaken at one juvenile court. The youth were followed for a period of one year with measures of official and unofficial delinquent behavior obtained four times during that year. Other data were also collected. The study results indicated two of the programs (i.e., volunteer probation officer and group counseling) had a negligible effe…

Neurochemical Changes in Brains of Albino Rats Resulting from Avoidance Learning
To observe the effects of avoidance training on the brain chemistry of trained rats, 36 Wistar albino rats, 60—75 days old, were run in an automated straight-runway maze. 12 Ss received limited avoidance training followed immediately by extinction training for the avoidance response. 12 other Ss received limited avoidance training only, and 12 is acted as non-trained controls. Undetected Delinquent Behavior
The article discusses an interview method designed to measure delinquent behavior directly from the confidential confessions of teen-agers. The method is described and results are presented from a validation study of 125 undetected delinquents.
