Building Futures
This study examined the perspectives and experiences of teachers and students in constructing dioramas. It was conducted in a small rural secondary school in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The three-dimensional models acted as tools for helping students visualise and represent ideas, supporting the development of environmental and sustainability concepts. This paper reports on the multiple ways teachers interpreted and implemented curriculum integration (CI) and considers the factors which contributed to the nature and degree of integration success in programmes in a number of case study secondary schools. This article offers an explanation for Leo Strauss’s apparently contradictory views on Israel and the Zionist project. Strauss’s views on Zionism, I argue, are intelligible only within an interpretative framework that allows for the fundamentally open-ended nature of Strauss’s thought. A late medieval farmstead at Corsankell, near Stevenston, North Ayrshire
Historical, placename and archaeological evidence have been brought together at Corsankell Farm to indicate that the search for medieval settlement in the west of Scotland can bear fruit. Archaeological excavation found evidence of later medieval settlement remains, and the historical and placename research suggests a date for the settlement of Corsankell back into the 12 th century or earlier. Using Richard Sennett's work on craftsmanship, three locations of ministerial formation are examined: the local church, the training minister and the denominational church.
