  • Relationships between consanguinity and migration rate from surname distributions and isonymy in France

    Open Access•Pierre Darlu, J Ruffié•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1992

The distribution of surnames in France during the period 1916-40 is analysed from the civil birth registers for each of the 36,500 administrative units. The migration rate estimated from surnames is compared with the migration rate obtained from demographic census data. The correlations calculated among the 90 Departments ranges between 0.52 and 0.76 according to the size of the communes. Moreover, the migration rate is shown to be highly correla…

  • Comparison of erythrocyte markers gene frequencies in different populations

Open Access•B Hoang, Ping Xuan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1991•Referencias: 2

A comparison of erythrocyte markers (ABO, Rh system) gene frequencies was done by bar code diagrams in populations of variable ethnic origin. The results from missions for the development in Far East Asia (China, Indochina, New Guinea) were compared to well known gene frequencies of the populations living in other regions: inhabitants of the islands of the Pacific ocean, Europeans of New Zealand and Western Europe (France), Europeans of North Ame…

  • Polymorphism of erythrocyte G‐6‐PD in the baboon

Open Access•D Gourdin, Hugues Vergnes et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1972

Blood samples from several populations of baboons (genus Papio ) were examined for G‐6‐PD variants. Several G‐6‐PD phenotypes were detected by starch gel electrophoresis. The so‐called fast variant phenotypes of G‐6‐PD in baboons differ from human variant phenotypes in several physicochemical constants
