  • The Concurrent and Longitudinal Contributions of Linguistic and Cognitive Skills to L2 Writing Quality

    Open Access•Zhao Ai-Ping, Aiping Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Intelligence•2026

Research on second language (L2) writing has primarily focused on linguistic skills, with limited attention to higher-order cognitive skills such as inference making. This study expands prior research by examining both concurrent and longitudinal effects of linguistic skills (vocabulary, grammatical knowledge, and morphological awareness) and inference making on L2 English writing quality among 135 Chinese high school English learners. Students’ …

Open Access•Xiangqiong Zhang, Meilan Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Education•2026

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms K-12 education, monitoring student emotional growth is imperative. However, existing affective instruments often measure transient states and overlook the unique interpersonal dynamics of intelligent environments. Departing from traditional Social Emotional Learning (SEL) tools that focus on human-only contexts, this study introduces the Student Affective Development Scale (SADS) to capture the longitudi…

  • Causal Prompting for Implicit Sentiment Analysis With Large Language Models

Open Access•Jing Ren, Wenhao Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2026

Implicit sentiment analysis (ISA) aims to infer sentiment that is implied rather than explicitly stated, requiring models to perform deeper reasoning over subtle contextual cues. While recent prompting-based methods using large language models (LLMs) have shown promise in ISA, they often rely on majority voting over chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning paths without evaluating their causal validity, making them susceptible to internal biases and spur…

  • Psychological resilience in the Covid-19 response

    Open Access•Akram Pasha, Abdul-Hanan Saani Inusah et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2026

Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of psychological resilience for well-being. While several reviews have addressed resilience in specific populations or contexts, few have synthesized global literature across diverse populations. This review examines psychological resilience across diverse populations, focusing on measurement, associated factors, and future public health preparedness strategies. Method: Guided by the…

Menglin Shang, Shan Qiao et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2026

People with HIV (PWH) in rural China continue to experience multiple forms of stigma that threaten their overall wellbeing. This study explored how internalized stigma and mental health distress mediate the relationship between social stigma and physical health using baseline data from 800 PWH (42% women; mean age 54.8 years) from the Rise-Up Project in Guangxi, China. Social stigma was modeled as a latent construct composed of perceived and anti…

Open Access•Hao Wang, Huihui Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2026

In addition, the present findings suggest that the deficit of the emotional conflict control ability among the children affected by parental HIV/AIDS might be due to the fact that emotional stimuli occupy more cognitive resources in the emotional conflict monitoring process

  • Dyadic Internalized Stigma, Resilience, and Psychological Distress Among People with HIV and their Family Members

Open Access•Fanghui Shi, Xueying Yang et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS and Behavior•2026

Despite robust evidence showing the mediation role of psychological resilience in the impacts of HIV-related stigma on psychological distress, most studies were conducted from an intrapersonal perspective. Limited studies have examined the dyadic effects of HIV-related stigma and resilience on psychological distress for people with HIV (PWH) and their family members. This study aimed to explore the actor-partner effect and the mediation role of r…

  • Imputation recovery tourism demand forecasting

Open Access•Yishuo Zhang, Baobao Song et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Tourism Research•2026•Referencias: 36

Tourism demand forecasting is vital for planning yet faces challenges like data misalignment and external shocks. Data misalignment—due to missing values, irregular reporting, and inconsistent frequencies—undermines data quality. Shocks such as pandemics or natural disasters disrupt patterns, reducing the reliability of historical data. Traditional models (e.g., ARIMA, ETS) assume clean, regular data, limiting their effectiveness in such contexts…

Open Access•Xiaodong Li, Jie Yuan et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

Scoring constructed responses in large-scale language tests is crucial, as it affects the reliability, validity, and fairness of test results. While previous research has examined rater-related factors in explaining scoring variations, most studies focused on raters’ background variables, with limited attention to their cognitive decision-making. Although a few studies have examined raters’ decision-making styles in writing assessments, revealing…

Short waits are pervasive in modern life. This study addressed how risk impacts intertemporal decisions that involve short waits (of 72 s or less) and how those decisions change while waiting. We used an experience time‐discounting task sensitive to the impact of risk and which can measure intratrial preference reversals. Three experiments showed that (1) adding uncertainty to outcomes does not change participants' preferences in waiting for a re…

  • The overuse of proportional reasoning and its cognitive mechanism

Ronghuan Jiang, Xiaodong Li•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2017

With the development of the Internet, an increasing number of adolescents play online game excessively, which leads to adverse effects on individuals and society. Previous studies have demonstrated altered gray-matter volume (GMV) in individuals with Internet gaming disorder (IGD), but the relationship between the tendency to IGD and the GMV across whole brain is still unclear in adolescents. In the present study, anatomical imaging with high res…
