  • Enabling geoarbitrage

Open Access•Shihan Ma, Yizhi Fang et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Geographies•2026

This study examines global mobility patterns of digital nomads and the policy effectiveness of digital nomad visas. Using large-scale data from Reddit’s digital nomad community processed through large language models, we construct a geotagged bilateral flow dataset spanning 2014–2024 integrated with country-level cultural, administrative, geographic, and economic indicators. Gravity model analysis reveals that cost advantage through geoarbitrage …

Open Access•Qin Li, Xiaojing Lin•ARTICLE•International Journal of Social…•2026

To address psychological health service gaps among rural left‐behind children, this study examines how a socio‐technical hybrid intervention model restructures the child protection ecosystem. Drawing on 45 stakeholder interviews from China's “L Letter‐Accompaniment Project,” we analyzed the data through Bronfenbrenner's bioecological model, social capital theory, and a network‐weaving perspective. The findings reveal a “backend‐digital, frontend‐…

Open Access•Qin Li, Zhenze Yang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2026

The 2024 World Heritage inscription of the Beijing Central Axis shifts the focus of historic district governance to quality-oriented urban regeneration. However, evaluating the precise alignment between infrastructural topology and cultural meaning remains a methodological challenge. To move beyond macro-level assumptions, this study constructs a novel “spatial–semantic coupling” diagnostic framework. Integrating multi-source street-view data, Sp…

  • Widowhood and cognitive function among older Chinese

Open Access•Qin Li, Zisen Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Demographic Economics•2026

Using three waves (2011–15) of CHARLS data, we analyze the short-term effects of widowhood on cognitive function among older Chinese. Fixed-effect models show that widowhood has significant adverse effects on cognition for rural elders but not for urban ones. Furthermore, compared to rural men, rural women exhibit greater declines in cognition, especially in fluid cognition. We explore the possible mechanism from the neighborhood perspective. The…
