Effects of UV‐B on certain metabolic processes of the green alga chlorella vulgaris
Exposure of Chlorella vulgaris to UV‐B radiation inhibited the survival, growth, and contents of proteins, carbohydrates and pigments in C. vulgaris. Protein was more sensitive to irradiation than carbohydrate. The sensitivity of photosynthetic pigments to UV‐B was in the order of: Chl b > Chi a > carotenoids.
