Permafrost soils represent an enormous carbon (C) pool that is highly vulnerable to climate warming. We used the model output ensemble of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 to estimate the C storage in soil, litter, and vegetation in the current extent of northern Asian permafrost during 1900–2100. Vegetation and environmental changes since the Last Glacial Maximum inferred from a lake core from Saiyong Co, central Tibetan Plateau
Pollen and grain-size records from a small lake (Saiyong Co) in the source region of the Yangtze River, central Tibetan Plateau are presented and used to reveal vegetation and lake environmental history since the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM).
