This article examines the implications of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in A. v. UK in which that court held that the child applicant's rights under article 3 of the ECHR had been breached by the caning he received from his stepfather. Sex-role differentiation in a female juvenile delinquent population
In a study of 179 prostitutes and other female juvenile delinquents, most subjects were found to be androgynous or undifferentiated in terms of their sex-role orientation. Female subjects with a masculine sex-role orientation were found to have a relatively higher incidence of prostitution. Research on women has discovered an association between negative sexual experiences in adolescence, low self-image, and subsequent deviant adult life-styles. This article reports on research showing that negative sexual experiences in adolescence occurred significantly more often in a sample of prostitutes than in a corresponding sample of female offenders

Two theoretical approaches tend to dominate the literature on the manner in which exoffenders reintegrate into society. These are the structural and subcultural models.
