The purpose of this study was to explore the military-to-civilian transition experiences among US women veterans. This study used a cross-sectional, mixed-methods survey research study to examine employment and personal well-being outcomes (sense of purpose) among a sample size of 822 women veterans. Disentangling syntactic, semantic and pragmatic impairments in ASD
Children with ASD and an IQ-matched control group of typically developing (TD) children completed an elicited-production task which encouraged the production of reversible passive sentences (e.g., “Bob was hit by Wendy”). Although the two groups showed similar levels of correct production, the ASD group produced a significantly greater number of “reversal” errors (e.g., “Wendy was hit by Bob”, when, in fact Wendy hit Bob) than the TD group (who, …

Several Australian state and territory jurisdictions permit parents of adolescents using violence to be listed as affected persons on a family violence protection order (the notable exceptions being Queensland and Tasmania), however, as yet there is minimal understanding of whether this is an effective response to this complex form of family violence. Alongside a randomized controlled trial testing the effectiveness of offering a cash transfer scheme (shopping vouchers) to mothers in areas with low breastfeeding rates, qualitative interviews were conducted with health care professionals delivering the scheme to explore their experiences. This article examines the use of the Psalms in sixteen short prayer programmes, found in tenth- and eleventh-century English manuscripts, and used for a variety of different purposes, such as morning prayer, healing the sick, and defending oneself against enemies.
