Tensions of trust in preservice teachers’ consideration of challenging mathematics tasks
Drawing on a larger, cross-institutional study that examines equitable elementary mathematics education, this article reports initial findings related to tensions that emerged for preservice teachers (PSTs) related to trusting students with open-ended, challenging mathematics tasks. Nitrous oxide emissions could reduce the blue carbon value of marshes on eutrophic estuaries
The supply of nitrogen to ecosystems has surpassed the Earth’s Planetary Boundary and its input to the marine environment has caused estuarine waters to become eutrophic. Excessive supply of nitrogen to salt marshes has been associated with shifts in species’ distribution and production, as well as marsh degradation and loss. Women were recruited from villages in the Belgaum district of India. Members of the research team obtained consent and led 58 interviews in the local languages. Bisexuals (N = 424) and lesbians (N = 1,921) were surveyed regarding their sources of gynecologic care, utilization patterns, openness with physicians, and assessment of quality of care.
