  • The Motivations for Micro-Transactions Use Scale (MMUS)

Open Access•Erin Gibson, Mark D Griffiths et al.•ARTICLE•Technology in Society•2026

Videogame micro-transactions are a popular form of monetization for game companies. Studies to date have identified an association between specific forms of micro-transaction and problematic gaming and gambling behaviour. Few studies have discussed motivations for the use of a wide range of micro-transactions. The present study reports the development and validation of a novel scale assessing motivations for the use of multiple forms of micro-tra…

  • Videogame player experiences with micro-transactions

Open Access•Erin Gibson, Mark D Griffiths et al.•ARTICLE•Computers in Human Behavior•2023

Videogame monetisation methods have become a billion-dollar industry. Concerns surrounding micro-transaction use and potential negative psychological impact have become prevalent in recent years. For example, there is a suggested association between loot box buying and problem gambling, although this does not capture the nuanced experiences of players with a broad range of micro-transactions. The present study aimed to identify convergences and d…

  • Returning home

    Erin L S Gibson, Erin Gibson et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Heritage…•2017•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 14

This article focusses on heritage practices in the tensioned landscape of the Stl’atl’imx (pronounced Stat-lee-um) people of the Lower Lillooet River Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Displaced from their traditional territories and cultural traditions through the colonial encounter, they are enacting, challenging and remaking their heritage as part of their long term goal to reclaim their land and return ‘home’. I draw on three examples of their…

  • Movement, Power and Place

    Open Access•Erin L S Gibson, Erin Gibson•ARTICLE•Cambridge Archaeological Journal•2015•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 14

This paper explores the biography of a wagon road located in the First Nations (indigenous) territory of the Stl'atl'imx of the lower Lillooet River Valley in southern British Columbia, Canada. While the road is best known as a route to the Fraser Canyon during the Fraser River Gold Rush of 1858, here I investigate its multiple lives. Adopting themes from symmetrical archaeology, I show that the wagon road was not a passive outcome of colonial ac…

  • Use of the non-pneumatic anti-shock garment (Nasg) to reduce blood loss and time to recovery from shock for women with obstetric haemorrhage in Egypt

Open Access•Suellen Miller, Janet M Turan et al.•ARTICLE•Global Public Health•2007

Obstetric haemorrhage is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. In many low-resource settings, delays in transport to referral facilities and in obtaining lifesaving treatment, contribute to maternal deaths. The non-pneumatic anti-shock garment (NASG) is a low-technology pressure device that decreases blood loss, restores vital signs, and has the potential to improve adverse outcomes by helping women survive delays in receiving adequate…

  • The Archaeology of Movement in a Mediterranean Landscape

    Erin L S Gibson, Erin Gibson•ARTICLE•Journal of Mediterranean…•2006•Citada por: 1

This study forms an introduction to the archaeology of movement and interaction—a social approach to Mediterranean landscapes that prioritises the landscape beyond sites. The archaeology of movement and interaction applies systematic survey methods to the material culture of roads and paths. While this research fits within the context of off-site and siteless survey, its focus lies in understanding the social relationships and daily activity of p…
