Continuity and Change in India’s Foreign Policy in the 21st Century
The dynamic interaction between continuity and change that characterizes India's foreign policy in the twenty-first century is influenced by shifting global power structures, changing economic objectives, and new security threats. There has been a discernible change in the tactics and approaches used, even though the fundamental ideas of its post-independence strategy—such as strategic autonomy, non-alignment (now reinterpreted), peaceful coexist…
Technology-Driven Trends in Hospitality
This study investigates the integration of smart technologies in the hospitality sector, focusing on customer perceptions, adoption rates, and operational outcomes of smart hotels. Using a mixed-method approach and data from 150 respondents, the research evaluates critical factors influencing the acceptance of smart hotel technologies, including demographic variables, perceived benefits, and barriers. Advanced statistical techniques such as ANOVA…
Impact of sustainable land‐use management practices on soil carbon storage and soil quality in Goa State, India
Evaluating sustainable land management (SLM) practices have regional to worldwide implications. It is imperative to develop SLM under particular soil type, climate, and cropping sequence following area‐specific best management practices to harness maximum profitability. The alternative land‐use system (ALUS—natural forest, pasture, cashew, areca nut, coconut) on hills and agricultural land‐use system (AGLUS—rice–rice, rice–pulse) in the coastal p…
What do the undergraduate medical students think of their educational environment
Context: Assessment of medical education is important to identify the deficiencies in medical educational environment. Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM) is a pre-validated inventory tool that helps to assess and thereby address those deficiencies. Aims: To know about the student’s perception regarding the education environment at Rajendra Institute of Medical sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. Methods and Material: This cross-sectional stu…
Shifting cultivation, soil degradation, and agricultural land‐use planning in the northeastern hill region of India using geo‐spatial techniques
Shifting cultivation is widely practiced in the northeastern hill (NEH) region of India. It is known that the destruction of natural forests and its conversion to cropland leads to soil resource degradation. The impacts on soil due to jhuming ( jhum practice followed in shifting cultivation) have not been studied adequately. Also, study of alternatives to jhum land use is lacking. In our study, a soil resource inventory of jhum lands was generate…

Unequal Lives
With the compelling evidence that more redistributive universal welfare benefits and education provide the main escalator to reducing inequalities, this is a timely and thought-provoking book for all those concerned to reduce our societies' embedded structural inequalities, cumulative disadvantages and health Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health Unequal Lives is the book that we have all been waiting for. In this skilfully crafted …
An Examination of Different Explanations for the Mere Exposure Effect
This article investigates two competing explanations of the mere exposure effect—the cognition-based perceptual fluency/misattribution theory (PF/M) and the affect-based hedonic fluency model (HFM)—under incidental exposure conditions. In two studies, the classical mere exposure effect is replicated in the context of banner advertising. The findings rule out the cognition-based PF/M and suggest that the spontaneous affective reaction resulting fr…
Effect of cadmium and zinc on growth of corn in a coarse texture soil (typic ustipsamments)
In a greenhouse experiment, the effects of ten percentages of Cd and three percentages of Zn were studied on corn (Zea mays L.) growth in a Fatehpur loamy sand soil. The mean dry matter yield of corn significantly decreased beyond 30 mg Cd kg‐1 soil. Application of 5 mg Zn kg‐1 soil increased the corn yield and reduced the toxicity of Cd. At 50 mg kg‐1 Zn application, the interaction effect of Cd and Zn on corn yield became antagonistic beyond a …
Effects of Cd, Cu and Ni on barley and their removal from the soil
This investigation shows single and combined effects of Cd (0, 4, 8 and 12 mg kg‐1 soil), Cu (0, 40, 80 and 120 mg kg‐1 soil) and Ni (0, 10, 20 and 30 mg kg‐1 soil) on barley. When applied singly, Ni resulted in no reduction in yield, whereas the reduction in the yield of barley was 3 to 17% for Cd and 6 to 17% for Cu. When their highest doses were applied together, for Cd and Cu, the reduction in the yield was 14%; for Cu and Ni 23%; for Ni and …
