OBJECTIVE: The main purpose of this study was to estimate the tax revenue lost by state and federal governments as a result of adverse labor market outcomes attributable to opioid misuse. Impact of emergency department visit on disease self-management in adults with depression
Unexpected health-endangering events that lead to an emergency department visit may be perceived as "wake-up calls" and induce significant changes in health-related behavior ("health shock" effect).
