The 2005 Leona Tyler Award Address
This address was presented at the 2005 conference of the American Psychological Association in Washington, DC. In this address, the author discusses person-environment fit as a fulcrum concept that is assumed to influence a wide variety of psychological phenomena ranging from satisfaction to performance to personality consistency to subjective well-being. Reliability and Concurrent Validity of the Sternberg Triangular Love Scale
This study was conducted to assess the reliability and concurrent validity of the Sternberg Triangular Love Scale. From introductory courses in psychology 90 students who were currently involved in dating relationships completed the scale and a group of other measures in reference to their dating partners. The scale demonstrated adequate internal consistency and 2-wk. test-retest reliability, but high subscale interrelatedness. Results supported …
Multiple Role Involvements and the Adjustment to Conjugal Bereavement
The relationship between multiple role involvements and the adjustment to conjugal bereavement was examined with a sample of surviving spouses ranging in age from twenty-four to seventy-four. Data from forty-nine respondents indicated a significant, positive correlation between the number of roles reported and an adjustment score. The self-report behavioral measure of role involvements was a better predictor of adjustment to bereavement than was …

Disclosure of Deception by Debriefed Subjects
This study was concerned with the problem of disclosure of deception procedures by debriefed undergraduate subjects. A peer-counseling experimental situation using a deception procedure was used in the study. Subjects (229 males and 296 females) who had been debriefed and asked not to disclose any information about the research were contacted by telephone. The findings suggest that subjects who agreed to maintain confidentiality tended less frequ…
