Colonialism and Carceral Motherhood
This article uses data from Hawai`i as a case study to illustrate overlapping, racialized, and gendered regimes of state power in the contemporary post-welfare, neo-liberal political environment. Native Hawaiian families, as a legacy of colonialism, are especially at risk as targets of this control due to strategies of regulation and control coincident with the rise of neo-liberal politics. The gardens of Glamis
Traces of the gardens laid out around Glamis Castle in the late 17th century have been recorded during aerial survey. The paper discusses the form of the gardens, the indications of earlier features, their character and their destruction. Documentation relating to the estate, the architectural sketches on the Pont manuscript maps and the results from geophysical survey are considered in relation to the evidence from the cropmarks

Asian‐Pacific Islander Adolescent Sexual Orientation and Defensive Aggression
Objective. This study used the differential‐outcomes hypothesis as a theoretical guide to examine the association of Guam's same‐sex‐ and both‐sex‐oriented Asian‐Pacific Islander adolescents and their participation in defensive aggression. Methods. Using ordinary least squares multiple regression analysis we tested the hypothesis with a probability sample of Guam's Asian‐Pacific high school students. Results. The imposition of Western law in Hawai‘i extended novel sets of regulation and control on the colonized Native Hawaiians. A primary focus of the law was the control of drinking and the native intoxicant ‘ awa.
