Public perception on immigration and racial discrimination in Spain
Understanding public administrators’ and citizens’ preferences for a successful transition to pesticide-free urban green spaces
Bans on the cosmetic use of pesticides in urban green spaces (UGS) is part of the toolbox to reduce pesticide use. While most technical barriers have been lifted, the acceptability of the global changes induced by pesticide-free UGS management is questioned. Public administrators in charge of UGSs have their own preferences and poorly informed opinions on citizens’ ones. A Discrete Choice Experiment approach was adopted to investigate the discrep…
Willing or complying? The delicate interplay between voluntary and mandatory interventions to promote farmers' environmental behavior
Agri-environmental policies generally build around two complementary approaches: mandatory requirements and (compensated) voluntary measures. One of the challenges of the future EU Common Agricultural Policy is precisely to find the right balance between these two types of interventions. We conducted an experiment with farmers in three EU Member States to assess the impact of (1) increasing mandatory contributions to the environment, and of (2) d…

The role of ancillary benefits on the value of agricultural soils carbon sequestration programmes
Identifying additional barriers in the adoption of agri-environmental schemes
What Do Farmers Want From Agri‐Environmental Scheme Design? A Choice Experiment Approach
Agri‐environmental schemes (AES) have had a limited effect on European agriculture due to farmers’ reluctance to participate. Information on how farmers react when AES characteristics are modified can be an important input to the design of such policies. This article investigates farmers’ preferences for different design options in a specific AES aimed at encouraging nitrogen fixing crops in marginal dry‐land areas in Spain. We use a choice exper…

Loza Quebrada procedente de la Capilla del Colegio-Universidad de Santa María de Jesús (Sevilla)
In this paper, a group of more than 300 ceramic artifacts of defective manufacture that are presently in the Real Alczar of Seville, is described. The coarsewares come from the filling of the voult of the presbitery of the chapel of Santa Mara de Jess College in the same city. The date of manufacture and setting can be fixed between 1503 and 1506 by means of documentary data allready published. The objects follow 50 different formal patterns from…
