In response to perceived housing problems, many housing cooperatives have been organized in Canada in the last 20 years. These co-ops are resident managed, nonprofit and nonequity. One of their chief goals is the creation of community. In this article I explore the processual dynamic of residence over a 12-year period in Longana and document the high frequency with which people moved houses and households while maintaining a strong preference for virilocality.
