  • The mediating effect of self-efficacy between teacher emotional support and interaction engagement in EFL learning

Mo Zhou, Xiaohong Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Multilingual and…•2025•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 70

Interaction engagement is a critical yet under-explored aspect of learning engagement. Although some researchers have touched upon interaction engagement in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts, few studies have discussed the influencing mechanism on it. Taking 352 Chinese college students as subjects, this study examined the relationship among EFL learners' perceived teacher emotional support, self-efficacy, and interaction engagement. I…

  • Economic impacts of maple syrup production potential in Kentucky

  • Assessing the factors affecting maple syrup yield in the US and predicting production potential in Kentucky

Open Access•Bobby Thapa, Thomas O Ochuodho et al.•ARTICLE•Trees Forests and People•2024

Maple syrup is an important part of the economy in various regions of the United States. Studies on maple syrup production potential mostly use climatic factors as determinants and, therefore, fail to account for non-climatic factors. In this study, we applied a stochastic production function framework to establish a relationship between maple syrup yield and a set of climatic (temperature and tapping season length) and non-climatic determining f…

  • Are consumers “green” enthusiasts or skeptics? Evidence from nontimber forest products

    Open Access•Bindu Paudel, Mo Zhou•ARTICLE•Forest Policy and Economics•2024•Referencias: 4

  • Ecological Risk Assessment of Geological Disasters Based on Probability-Loss Framework

Open Access•Leli Zong, Ming Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

Geological disaster could pose a great threat to human development and ecosystem health. An ecological risk assessment of geological disasters is critical for ecosystem management and prevention of risks. Herein, based on the "probability-loss" theory, a framework integrating the hazard, vulnerability, and potential damage for assessing the ecological risk of geological disasters was proposed and applied to Fujian Province. In the process, a rand…

  • Static and Dynamic Impacts of Internet Use on Self-Rated Health among Adults in China

Open Access•Mo Zhou, Isao Igarashi et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The widespread use of the Internet has a substantial impact on people's livelihoods, including health-related factors. Whether this impact is beneficial or harmful to people's health remains unclear. Some cross-sectional studies found static differences in the health status between Internet users and nonusers, whereas panel data studies found dynamic changes in an individuals' health over time, making the issue, including its causality, controver…

  • Effects of EFL Learners' Perceived Social Support on Academic Burnout

    Open Access•Xiaohong Liu, Mo Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2023•Referencias: 54

Social support is a significant environmental factor predicting academic burnout, but the underlying mechanism of structural relationship between these two variables needs further verification. Students' perceived social support in the higher education environment is mainly from their teachers and peers. Taking 352 non-English undergraduates as respondents, this article explored the relationship between EFL learners' perceived support from their …

  • Occupational class differences in outcomes after ischemic stroke

Open Access•Yinwei Zhu, Yaling Lu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

Compared with white-collar workers, farmers are associated with less risk of cardiovascular events at 12 months after ischemic stroke, while there are no significant differences in blue-collar workers

  • Recent deforestation drove the spike in Amazonian fires

    Open Access•Adrián Cardíl, Sergio De‐miguel et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2020

Tropical forests are of global importance even though they only cover around 10% of the Earth's land surface. They store large amounts of carbon and host between one-half and two-thirds of the world's species (Lewis 2006). Small changes in the tropical moist forest—the most biodiverse biome within the tropical forests—may lead to global impacts on climate dynamics and warming, water cycles, and the loss of biodiversity. If the current rates of de…

  • A welfare analysis of China's tariffs on U.S. hardwood products

  • Occurrence, Ecological and Human Health Risks, and Seasonal Variations of Phenolic Compounds in Surface Water and Sediment of a Potential Polluted River Basin in China

Open Access•Mo Zhou, Jiquan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

Five phenolic compounds in water and sediment of Yinma River Basin were investigated. The average concentration of phenol was the highest in water samples as well as in sediment samples during the wet season, 101.68 ng/L and 127.76 ng/g, respectively. 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP) and pentachlorophenol (PCP) was not detected in some sampling sites. Shitou Koumen Reservoir and the neighboring area were the severest areas of phenolic pollution.…
