Effects of High Status and Low Status Actor's Performance on Observers' Attributions of Causality and Behavioral Intentions
The present study investigated the effect of three variables, the difficulty level of the task, the nature of the feedback and the nature of the relationship between model and observer, on peer observers' attributions of model's performance and their subsequent intention to imitate model. It was predicted that the level of skill attributed to high sociometric status actors would be similar for both high and low task difficulty conditions whereas …
College Student Marijuana Use and Societal Alienation
This study examines the relationship between four levels of marijuana use and two forms of alienation (personal and societal). Marijuana use was significantly related to societal alienation but not to personal alienation. It was also found that heavy marijuana users perceived themselves to be more open to legal and societal harassment. Finally it was found that value hierarchies differed as a function of marijuana use
Asymmetry of Payoff Structure and Cooperative Behavior in the Prisoner's Dilemma Game
This study compares the effect of a standard symmetric Prisoner's Dilemma game and an asymmetric Prisoner's Dilemma game on choice behavior. The two types of Prisoner's Dilemma games were crossed with two sets of payoff matrices, thus generating four experimental conditions. It was predicted that subjects in the asymmetric game condition would manifest less cooperative behavior than subjects in the symmetric game condition. This effect would be d…
