Students' Self-Reports of Help-Seeking
Undergraduates (N = 248) at a private, midsize, Midwestern university provided self-reports of their psychological problems; stress; demographic variables; and people to whom they talked when they had problems. The present study examined the role of dysfunctional attitudes, negative life events, and social support in predicting depressive dysphoria. Factor Structure of the Family Environment Scale
The factor structure of the Family Environment Scale (FES; Moos, Insel, and Humphrey, 1974) was examined in a large heterogeneous urban sample of adolescents (N = 922) in two studies at two levels of analysis. Study 1 examined the subscale structure of the FES using individual items as the unit of analysis. Client characteristics as determinants of intervention modality and therapy progress
The relationship between client characteristics and assignment to family or individual therapy and therapy progress was examined in 131 child cases. Assignment to family therapy was related to help-seeking variables, suggesting that the recommendation followed a therapeutic rationale.
