Over a gritty, up-tempo RZA beat, Ghostface Killah ends Winter Warz with "In Born Power, born physically, power speaking / The truth in the song be the pro-black teaching." Currently, the mediation literature is extensive and appears fairly complete: it describes the mediation process, the inducements to mediate, the techniques employed by mediators, and the mediation outcomes. While the literature does make contributions, it is culture-bound, in that it -for the most part- is based on the responses of Western mediators, studied by Western researchers, relying on assumptions embedded in their culture and writing for…
Patterns of burnout among managers and professionals
Using structural equation modeling, this paper compares the intertemporal sequences of the burnout components proposed by Maslach (1982) and Golembiewski (1989) using responses from 354 human resource professionals. The relationship between the burnout components and several critical variables that are theoretically linked to the phenomenon are also investigated. Caprock Canyonlands Archeology
Archeological investigations at Lake Alan Henry, in Garza and Kent Counties, Texas, between 1987 and 1993 generated much archeological data relevant to interpreting late Holocene human activities. This review goes beyond the project boundary to synthesize the late prehistory and history of the Texas Panhandle Plains, with special emphasis on the north-south band of rugged canyons found along the Caprock Escarpment, herein defined as the Caprock C…
Community Mediation in the People's Republic of China
This study investigated the mediations of ninety-seven community mediators in the People's Republic of China. The mediators' reports on two mediations each — one successful and one unsuccessful — indicated the frequency with which they use twenty-seven mediation techniques. Phase I Cultural Resources Investigations at Justiceburg Resevoir on the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos River, Garza and Kent Counties, Texas
In 1987, Prewitt and Associates, Inc. conducted a Phase I archeological reconnaissance of the proposed Justiceburg Reservoir located in Garza and Kent counties, Texas. The investigations included a 100\ pedestrian survey, a preliminary geoarcheoloqical study, and historic archival and field research. Three hundred and seventy-five sites were documented in the ca. 8600-acre project area. Two hundred and eighty-eight sites contain prehistoric arche…
