CONTEXT: There are few UK data on the prevalence and clustering of risky behaviours in ethnically diverse adolescents. Understanding the acceptability, barriers and facilitators for chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening in technical colleges
This study offers new insights into the acceptability of college-based sexually transmitted infection screening to young, multi-ethnic students. Future studies in similar high risk, hard to reach groups should consider linking testing with education about sexually transmitted infections, offering non stigmatising incentives and engaging peer influencers

During the First World War combatants of all armies were prey to nervous disorders or psychological breakdown. These war neuroses were a response to the highly-industrialised nature of the warfare as well as to the fatigue engendered over four years of intense conflict. From 1945–48 the Friends Relief Service (FRS) cared for refugees, displaced people and expellees in post-war Germany. So far, the work of the voluntary sector in this sphere has been neglected but the Ex-Services' Welfare Society (ESWS), the charity dedicated to caring for shell-shocked men and their families, ensured that the plight of mentally wounded veterans achieved a high public profile during the 1920s. METHODS: Eleven women with anorexia nervosa prospectively completed the Sexual Daydreaming Questionnaire (SDQ) and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) at five time points during inpatient treatment involving weight restoration.
