  • Prevalence of lead poisoning and unique lead sources in Bhutan

Open Access•Mongal Singh Gurung, Phillip Erbele et al.•ARTICLE•PLOS Global Public Health•2026

Lead is a toxic element causing devastating consequences in children and affecting health throughout life. One in three children globally are estimated to have a blood lead level (BLL) of 5 μg/dL or higher, and lead causes harm at even lower levels. Low-level lead poisoning is pervasive. However, few low- and middle-income countries have national BLL prevalence or local lead source data. A nationally representative cross-sectional BLL survey in c…

Open Access•Kuenzang Dorji, Lori K Sheeran et al.•ARTICLE•Asian Social Science•2022

Tag in Dzongkha refers to Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris) and gung refers to clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa). The saying describes the existence of a …

  • Preliminary Report on Golden Langur (Trachypithecus geei) Winter Sleep Sites

    Open Access•Kuenzang Dorji, Lori K Sheeran et al.•ARTICLE•Humans•2021•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 30

Golden langurs (Trachypithecus geei) in Bhutan have received little research attention in the anthropic environments where most of the population lives. We recorded group sizes and compositions and documented sleep sites for 24 golden langur groups living in a biological corridor (N = 9) and near a human settlement (N = 15) in central Bhutan. We used scan sampling to document behaviors and direct observation and camera traps to record potential p…
