Burial of a Stone Age Child With Signs of Extraordinary Burial Practice From the Ust-Aleika‐5 (Barnaul Stretch of the Ob)
The burial of a child of early childhood from the middle to the end of the 4th millennium BC from the Ust-Aleyka‐5 burial ground is considered to be so-called «atypical», having signsof an extraordinary burial practice. The reason for the specificity and large number of accompanying inventory and burial rites of the buried person could be his pathology (macrocephaly, probably caused by hydrocephalus). We present the findings of a multidisciplinary study of burial 2 at Ust-Aleyka-5 on the Upper Ob. In 1982, an upright burial of a child with abundant funerary offerings (lithic artifacts, ornaments made of bones and teeth of mammals, shells of Unio bivalves) was unearthed. We focus on a find unique in the region—the shell of a sea snail Tritia nitida, a gastropod, which, at present, lives in the Mediterranean, Black, and Azov seas. The Raman spec…

The article considers the pedagogical activity of V.I. Matyushchenko at Omsk State University in 1976–2005. Arriving in Omsk as an already established venerable scientist, he began his work virtually from scratch. The article discusses the results of the study of the tradition of installing commemorative steles by the Kazakhs in the Omsk Region.
