  • From risk intensity to risk inequality

Open Access•Xinyang Liu, Siyuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2026

  • Understanding nonlinear and spatially heterogeneous effects of urban residential morphology on land surface temperature

Open Access•Xinyang Liu, Siyuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2026

  • A time-varying behavioral economic model for dynamic hotel demand analysis

    Open Access•Gabrielle Lin, Xinyang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Management•2026•Referencias: 61

This study addresses the static limitations of current behavioral economic models by developing and empirically validating a novel time-varying behavioral economic model. Integrating a behavioral economic framework with nonlinear time-varying parameter estimation via a Bayesian approach, the model is empirically demonstrated through a hotel booking dataset. Results reveal significant heterogeneity in key behavioral characteristics (baseline deman…

  • Forecasting Chinese outbound tourism recovery

Open Access•Hanyuan Zhang, Ying Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Tourism Research•2026•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 46

  • Fertility intention and its influencing factors among young people of reproductive age in China

    Open Access•Xun Liu, Xinyang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2026•Referencias: 3

  • Tourism Demand Forecasting in Normal and Crisis Times

    Open Access•Xinyang Liu, Anyu Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Hospitality & Tourism…•2026•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 37

Taking advantage of the merits of both the bootstrap-aggregating method and the Bayesian forecasting approach, this study introduces their combination—the BayesBag method—to the tourism forecasting literature for the first time. In this study, we examine whether the novel BayesBag method can improve the forecasting performance of the traditional Autoregressive-Distributed-Lag (ADL) model in both normal (i.e., pre-COVID-19) and crisis (i.e., durin…

  • Wage stagnation in leisure and hospitality during the cost-of-living crisis

Wen Chang, Xinyang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Sustainable Tourism•2025

The leisure and hospitality (L&H) industry, comprising the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector and the accommodation and food services sector, faces persistent workforce sustainability challenges, including poor working conditions, high turnover, and low wages. To advance L&H workforce sustainability, this study examines how the cost-of-living crisis affects wage vulnerability in this sector through the lens of the Labor Market Segmentatio…

  • Assessing the effect of adverse economic events on severity of hunger among food pantry clients

Open Access•Candice Bangham, Rachel M Zack et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

This study assessed relationship between adverse economic events (AEE) and hunger level (i.e., little to no, moderate, severe). A cross-sectional survey was conducted from June to August 2018 in 10 food pantries with 616 food pantry users. Hunger level was assessed by the Household Hunger Scale. AEE were evaluated over the past 3 months. Participants (60.55%) experienced unexpected or increased medical expenses (17.69%), job loss (13.64%), pay re…

  • The effect of fear of missing out on mental health

Open Access•Xinyang Liu, Tour Liu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2023

The roles of different solitude behavior in the relationship between fear of missing out and mental health differed. Social avoidance and loneliness as not self-determined solitude could activate the fear of missing out, which could affect mental health

  • Impact of decomposition on time series bagging forecasting performance

    Open Access•Xinyang Liu, Anyu Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Management•2023•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 51

  • Optimization Model Based on Food System

    Open Access•Xinyang Liu•ARTICLE•Academic Journal of Humanities &…•2021

The current global food system is unstable. Even if the food produced is enough to feed everyone in the world, many people still go hungry and cause tremendous damage to the environment. Therefore, it is very important to optimize the current food system. We have established an EESPE model to evaluate the current food system and an optimized OESPE model. Through the comparison of the two models, our OESPE model is based on optimizing the current …

  • Bayesian bootstrap aggregation for tourism demand forecasting

Open Access•Haiyan Song, Anyu Liu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Tourism…•2021

Limited historical data are the primary cause of the failure of tourism forecasts. Bayesian bootstrap aggregation (BBagging) may offer a solution to this problem. This study is the first to apply BBagging to tourism demand forecasting. An analysis of annual and quarterly tourism demand for Hong Kong shows that BBagging can, in general, improve the forecasting accuracy of the econometric models obtained using the general‐to‐specific (GETS) approac…
