Chipped Stone Polyhedrons from Late Neolithic Umm Meshrat I, Jordan
Présentation d’un nouveau type d’objets lithiques, des polyèdres en silex, provenant d’Umm Meshrat 1 (Jordanie) site néolithique récent. Si ces polyèdres facettés ressemblent pas leur morphologie à des nucleus, d’une part leurs petites dimensions, d’autre part l’absence de microlithes dans l’assemblage suggèrent qu’ils n’ont pas servi pour la production d’éclats mais que l’obtention de tels objets était délibérée.
