  • Can AI-generated faces serve as fillers in eyewitness lineups

Rachel Leigh Greenspan, Amanda Nicholson Bergold•ARTICLE•Memory•2025•Referencias: 59

To create a photo lineup for an eyewitness, police embed the suspect in a group of similar-looking individuals (i.e., fillers). If the witness selects the suspect from these photos of similar-looking people, then this provides evidence they remember the suspect from the crime event. Selecting appropriate fillers is one of the most difficult aspects of lineup construction. In these studies, we explore the feasibility of using artificial intelligen…

How do people reconcile such potentially conflicting attitudes? This study followed 602 United States citizens, recruited from Amazon Mechanical Turk, at three points throughout the 2016 presidential election investigating how attitudes and preferences changed over time and how people remembered their past feeli…

Where does the consulting room begin and end? And how do those limits impact the therapeutic aims of psychoanalysis? Drawing on clinical work conducted at the margins of European empire across the twentieth century, this essay explores how psychoanalytic notions of political subjectivity are mediated by the contingent spatial aesthetics of the clinic in moments of revolutionary struggle. It brings clinical uses of the psychoanalytic frame by Fran…

This media environm…

Across two studies, we aimed to determine the row and column size in matrix-style questions that best optimizes participant experience and data quality for computer and mobile users. In Study 1 ( N = 2,492), respondents completed 20 questions (comprising four short scales) presented in a matrix grid (converted to item-by-item format on mobile phones). We varied the number of rows (5, 10, or 20) and columns (3, 5, or 7) of the matrix on each page.…
