This study observed that the perceived knowledge and practices regarding natural disasters are very poor while barriers to access these are substantial among Nepalese immigrants in Japan. As Japanese language was identified as a major barrier, the availability of language translation services in every health care sector also in the government offices of Japan might encourage people to learn more about disaster preparedness
Psychological impact of the state of emergency over Covid-19 for non-permanent workers
The present study demonstrated that the mental health of non-permanent workers was not negatively affected following the state of emergency due to COVID-19 in Japan. Unemployment is an important factor that influences the mental health of general workers

This paper reports accelerator radiocarbon dates obtained from 14 charcoal specimens recovered from the Shukubai-Kaso site (Loc. Sankakuyama), which was excavated in 1973. The small flake-based assemblage from the site has been chronologically attributed to represent the oldest archaeological occupation in Hokkaido. Because the new radiocarbon dates, stratigraphic sequences, and site context do not contradict each other, we conclude that the ages…

Age-related somatic symptom correlates of PHQ ≥ 10 differ across the lifespan. Predominantly gastrointestinal symptoms in younger patients, and generalized fatigue, malaise, and musculoskeletal pain in older groups were observed. In order for screening physicians to proactively identify depression, awareness of age-related somatic symptoms is warranted

This ritual site (iwaya or siratcise), located in a mountainous area near the western coast of Lake Shikotsu, is considered to have been used for bear-sending ceremonies by the Ainu people at least until about 70 years ago.
