L’article dresse un aperçu de l’origine de l’interactionnisme symbolique (IS) en Suède et de ses thématiques au cours de huit décennies. Il revient sur la percée de l’IS et son influence sur la théorie et la recherche au sein de la sociologie suédoise au cours des années 1970-1980 autour de la personnalité de J. Asplund. Ensuite, l’IS se développe dans plusieurs sites suédois, notamment Göteborg et Uppsala
