Mid-to-Late Holocene Aboriginal Flaked Stone Artefact Technology on the Cumberland Plain, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Despite being one of the most intensively investigated archaeological regions in Australia, the flaked stone technologies employed by Aboriginal people occupying the Cumberland Plain of western Sydney, New South Wales, remain poorly documented in the published literature. The excavation and survey of prehistoric enclosures at Blackshouse Burn, Lanarkshire
Reports on work carried out between 1985 and 1986 at a large banked enclosure with an associated smaller enclosure, on the edge of an ancient bog. It is suggested that the site had both ritual and domestic associations. Excavation of Neolithic enclosures at Cowie Road, Bannockburn, Stirling, 1984-85
Excavations undertaken in 1984 and 1985 on cropmark sites identified as pit and post alignments revealed a bow-ended pit-defined enclosure dated to late-fifth to mid-fourth millennium BC, a post-defined enclosure dated to the mid-fourth to early-third millennium BC, and possible domestic activity. The pits of the enclosure showed up to three phases of use with deposits containing Carinated Bowl-type pottery in the later phases. Medieval or post m…

Excavation of a promontory fort and a palisaded homestead at Lower Greenyards, Bannockburn, Stirling, 1982–5
Excavations undertaken in 1982,1984 and 1985 on cropmark sites of a promontory fort and nearby palisaded homestead revealed structural remains mainly of the Iron Age and evidence of occupation or other activity from the Mesolithic to the present day. The palisaded homestead was paralleled by a similar homestead phase of the occupation of the promontory, later replaced by a fort with three periods of defence construction. Until comparatively recently the archaeological study of ancient towns had been largely conditioned by urban development or individual research interests. This is especially true of Mediterranean sites whose especial richness has generated most attention upon their monumental aspect. Neolithic henge-type enclosure at Balfarg
Further excavation and pedological analysis of the gully forming the southern perimeter of the henge suggest that the channel previously interpreted as a natural stream (see 83/10516) is in fact the 'missing' southern segment of henge ditch

On the 29 July 1984 archaeologists engaged in a survey of the later Prehistoric and Romano-British landscape around Holme-on-Spalding Moor in East Yorkshire visited land at Hasholme which was being drained.
