  • Aging effects on control ability

Open Access•Lu Guo, Guo Lu et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2025

The dual mechanisms of control model (DMC model) assumes that aging leads to decline in proactive control and reactive control abilities in various aspects of daily life. However, the methods adopted by previous ERP studies limit their capacity to provide in-depth information on the aging effects of neural processes, such as N2 (reactive control), P3b, and CNV (proactive control). This study aims to clarify the aging effects on proactive control …

  • Dynamic mechanisms of exercise to improve body satisfaction

Open Access•Yu‐Bu Wang, Jonathan M Bird et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Psychology•2024

We examined the dynamic mechanisms of aerobic training (AT) and strength training (ST) to improve body satisfaction. Sixty‐six participants were randomised to either the AT or ST condition and completed an 8‐week intervention. Participants completed 3 weekly, 30‐minute sessions of moderate intensity AT (65–75% VO 2 max) or ST (65–75% 1‐RM). The energy consumption of each session was approximately equivalent under both conditions. Body satisfactio…
