  • Site 6 of Koksharovsky Kholm

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Уфимский археологический вестник•2026

The article analyzes materials of Koksharovksy Kholm site 6 situated in the Middle Transural mountain forest zone. In 2024, Yu.B.Serikov researched 2013 and 2015 excavation materials predominantly using typological analysis. He determined three chronological complexes among the lithic inventory of the site. The complexes are stratified into the Mesolithic, Neolithic and Eneolithic. The aforementioned excavations reveal a range of semi-closed comp…

  • About One Type of Talc Items From the Koksharovsky Kholm Neolithic Sanctuary in the Middle Trans-Urals

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Ural Historical Journal•2025

The original talc products, conventionally called «talc rods with and without notches» by the authors of the article, are the subject of the analysis. 15 fragments of such items are similar to each other. They have a segment-shaped plan with narrowed ends and a deliberately flattened base. The face opposite the flattened base is usually deliberately sharpened, so the cross-section of artifacts is rectangular, but with a pointed end, or wedge-shap…

  • The “Koksharovsky Kholm — Yur’inskoe Settlement” Archaeological Site

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Ural Historical Journal•2024

Fixation in the cultural layer of the archaeological site of all ceramic types of the Trans-Ural region: early Neolithic (the last third of the 7th — the turn of the 6th–5th millennium BC) the Koshkino and the Koksharovsko-Yur’inskaya (Kozlovo) cultures, Late Neolithic (the turn of the 6th–5th millennium BC — the middle of the 5th millennium BC) of the Poludenskaya and the Basyanovskaya (local variant of the Boborykino) cultures, allows setting t…

  • The history of the study of the Cherkaskul Culture at the present stage

    Open Access•A F Shorin•ARTICLE•Vestnik arheologii, antropologii…•2023•Referencias: 9

The article presents the analysis of the current stage of the history of study of the Late Bronze Age Cherkas-kul Culture, mostly distributed in the forest, forest-steppe and steppe areas of the Trans-Urals, including the Tobol region. The source base of the study is a critical analysis of scientific publications concerning the problems of the culture. Five stages in the history of the study of the Cherkaskul Culture were identified, but the achi…

  • Historiography of the Neolithic Trans-Urals

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Vestnik arheologii, antropologii…•2022•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 8

The paper concerns the analysis of the history of the study of the Kozlov and Poludenskaya Neolithic Cul-tures. The territory of distribution of these archaeological cultures from the end of the 7th to the third quarter of the 5th millennium BC encompassed the forest Trans-Urals and the southern taiga zone of Western Siberia, as well as the adjacent northern edge of the forest-steppe. The source base of the research is represented by a critical a…

  • Bas’yanovo Archaeological Complex of the Neolithic in the Forest Trans-Urals

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Ural Historical Journal•2021

The article is devoted to the analysis of the history of exploring the Bas’yanovo archaeological complex of the Neolithic in the forest Trans-Urals. At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries A. F. Shorin and V. A. Arefiev identified this ceramic complex initially as an independent type of ceramics based on materials from the Koksharovsky hill sanctuary. The authors of the first researches showed the markers of this ceramic complex, its similarit…

  • Flat-Bottomed Ceramics of the Neolithic in the Trans-Urals and Western Siberia

    Open Access•A F Shorin•ARTICLE•Vestnik NSU Series History and…•2020

Purpose. The history of the study of the Neolithic site with flat-bottomed ceramics of the Trans-Urals and Western Siberia is considered. Until the end of the 20th Century, such complexes in the region were correlated with the Boborykino culture. The formation of ideas about the main components of this culture determined the essence of the first two stages of the study of culture (from 1961 to the first decade of the 20th Century). Results. At th…

  • Koksharovsky Kholm and Chertova Gora, Two Neolithic Sanctuaries in the Ural and in Western Siberia

    Open Access•A F Shorin•ARTICLE•Archaeology Ethnology and…•2017

Two Neolithic sanctuaries are compared: Koksharovsky Kholm in the middle Ural and Chertova Gora in western Siberia. Both apparently represent related but separate populations represented by the Koshkino-Boborykino and Kozlov-Poludenka decorative traditions dating to the 7th–5th millennia BC (calibrated). Sanctuaries were arranged on high salient promontories. At Koksharovsky Kholm, the ritual meaning of the place was accentuated by two ditches se…

  • Stratigraphy and Relative Chronology of the Neolithic Assemblages at the Koksharovsky Kholm Sanctuary

    Open Access•A F Shorin, A A Shorina•ARTICLE•Archaeology Ethnology and…•2011•Citada por: 2

Both absolute and relative chronology suggest that the Koshkino and the Koksharovsky-Yuryinskoye (Kozlov) assemblages at the Koksharovsky Kholm sanctuary date back to the Early Neolithic. Their lower date is the late 6th –early 5th millennia BC, and their upper date is the late 5th – early 4th millennia BC, when they gave rise to the Late Neolithic Poludenka and Basiyanovsky assemblages. In the third quarter of the 4th millennium BC, Late Neolith…
