Alternative and Positive Masculinities in South African Men’s Talk About Their Experience of Gender-Based Violence
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a significant social and public health issue in South Africa. This article explores how men speak about their experiences of being victims of GBV in heterosexual relationships. Eight men between the ages of 30 and 70 were interviewed using semi-structured interviews at Moshate, a men's counselling organisation in Johannesburg, South Africa.
