Feasibility and psychometric evaluation of large language model–generated radiology learning materials for board examination preparation
BACKGROUND: Large language models (LLMs) can generate structured educational content at scale, yet their role in postgraduate radiology training remains untested. METHODS: This pilot study evaluated the feasibility of deploying LLM-generated radiology board preparation materials, the psychometric properties of adapted survey instruments, and exploratory effect-size estimates for sample-size planning of a future multicentre trial. We conducted a p…
Dear Theory and Other Stories
This collaboratively written article follows the narratives, memories, and reflections of six Black women and their professor, a White woman, as we read and grappled with theory in a qualitative research course. We explore our shared and individual experiences interpreting, understanding, and applying theory through reading with Katherine McKittrick. Reading together was healing because it gave us a new language or affirmation of our world and vi…
Determining influential factors on post-pandemic behavior in the workplace using the Health Belief Model
The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on preventive behaviors has been observed even when COVID-19 vaccines and medications are used. This study used the Health Belief Model to investigate the factors associated with employees’ preventive behaviors during the post-COVID-19 period, which might play a critical role in preventing workplace infections going forward. This is a cross-sectional study using an online questionnaire from a …

An innovative VAR classroom is set up as an immersive and interactive learning environment at Nanyang Technological University for curriculum-based learning. This classroom is equipped with 6 individual VR displays and headsets, where high-end computers are connected to each di…
Domain specificity of mastery-motivation-related behaviours in relation to Singaporean preschoolers’ mathematical performance
« Attrape-moi si tu peux ! »

Association between residing in municipalities facing population decline and satisfaction with neighboring healthcare infrastructure in older aged adults

The haunting of classics in the Dark Academia aesthetic
This article explores the online aesthetic ‘Dark Academia’ from the perspective of Classical reception. Dark Academia became popular during the COVID-19 era as an internet subculture revolving around bookishness, university culture, the Gothic, and the Classical. From its beginning as a Tumblr fandom around Donna Tartt’s The Secret History (1992), Dark Academia has grown to reach millions of followers worldwide across numerous social media platfo…
Effects of surface acting on exhaustion of Korean school counselors
This study investigated the impact of surface acting on exhaustion in Korean school counselors. Using the daily diary method with 223 school counselors, the study examined how maintaining a positive outward image through surface acting is related to job exhaustion. The results indicated that surface acting at both Level 1 and Level 2 positively affects exhaustion. Additionally, a supportive administrative climate negatively predicted exhaustion. …
Elite Perceptions of a China-Led Regional Order in Southeast Asia
How do Southeast Asian states perceive a China-led regional order? To answer this question, we conducted a survey of elites from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, countries that are “least likely” to acquiesce to a China-led regional order. Our survey indicates that although most elites view China as influential and have a cultural affinity with it, they do not perceive China as having the authority to presid…
Reflecting on America's Withdrawal from Afghanistan
This essay reflects on the broad contours of the war in Afghanistan from Southeast Asia's perspective. While the United States' withdrawal from Kabul was calamitous, the pessimism about America's role in Southeast Asia has been overstated. The United States' withdrawal from Afghanistan was largely inconsequential for the region. Southeast Asian states deftly mixed their support for America's campaign in Afghanistan and the broader war on terror w…
(Not) democratising through strength
How and under what conditions do autocratic parties democratise through strength'? Prior scholarship suggests that authoritarian parties embrace political liberalisation when there are warnings of their decline. However, Singapore's People's Action Party (PAP) has not 'conceded-to-thrive' despite seemingly waning dominance. This paper explains why autocratic parties resist democratisation. Drawing from historical and sociological institutionalism…
Understanding and assessing uncertainty of observational climate datasets for model evaluation using ensembles
In climate science, observational gridded climate datasets that are based on in situ measurements serve as evidence for scientific claims and they are used to both calibrate and evaluate models. However, datasets only represent selected aspects of the real world, so when they are used for a specific purpose they can be a source of uncertainty. Here, we present a framework for understanding this uncertainty of observational datasets which distingu…
Political orders and peace-building
Why did the 2005 Helsinki Agreement lead to peace in Aceh while the 2000 Humanitarian Pause and the 2002 Cessation of Hostilities Agreement floundered? This paper argues that a decidedly illiberal peace-building approach led to the cessation of hostilities and subsequent peace in the Indonesian province. Conflict termination in Aceh was premised on the transition from a wartime political order to a peacetime order. The shift from a wartime to pea…
A Systems Approach to Social Entrepreneurship
Currently, disabilities organizations are increasingly being challenged by the requirement for individualized service, expectations to show personal outcomes, and the need to base their services on evidence-based practices. Social entrepreneurship (SE) is being put forward as an innovative approach for dealing with these challenges. This article presents a systems approach to SE based on a program logic model. This model identifies the input fact…
Norm subsidiarity and institutional cooperation
Given competing interests among the three littoral states of Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, what explains the nature and timing of their cooperative arrangement in combating maritime piracy in the Straits of Malacca in the post-2004 period? This observation is especially puzzling because the material and strategic interests of these actors generally did not change during the time period that witnessed increased cooperation. We argue that key …
