    Open Access•Julie P Harrison, Esther Deblinger et al.•ARTICLE•Community Mental Health Journal•2023•Referencias: 36

Clinicians working with youth exposed to trauma may be at increased risk for experiencing elevated levels of stress and symptoms of secondary traumatic stress, which can negatively impact clinician wellbeing and ultimately contribute to reduced access to quality care for clients. An innovative Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training incorporating self-care practices (i.e., Practice What You Preach; PWYP) was developed to hel…

    Open Access•Lauren D Brumley, Elisabeth Pollio et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Child & Adolescent…•2021

Although caregivers have been found to be critical to children's healing, little has been documented about caregivers' experiences in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). The current study describes caregivers' satisfaction with and perceptions of TF-CBT. Caregivers ( n = 431) of children/adolescents ( n = 496) who completed TF-CBT filled out pre-treatment questionnaires on demographics and perceived aloneness in facing their chi…

Open Access•Esther Deblinger, Elisabeth Pollio et al.•ARTICLE•Community Mental Health Journal•2020•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 49

This pilot study evaluated the effectiveness of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training programs augmented with a systematic "PRACTICE What You Preach" (PWYP) self-care focus, which has trainees personally utilize the coping skills they teach their clients. Participants were 115 clinicians/supervisors who completed a PWYP TF-CBT training program. Pre- to post-training analyses documented significant increases in participants…

  • Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for youth

Charles Webb, Adele M Hayes et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2014

These findings suggest that TF-CBT can be implemented effectively in community settings. Treatment outcomes were similar to those reported in efficacy trials of TF-CBT delivered in specialty clinic settings. Improvements in PTSD symptoms and internalizing and externalizing problems were maintained up to one year after treatment began, although the changes in externalizing symptoms were the least stable

Since the publication of Cohen et al.'s authoritative Treating Trauma and Traumatic Grief in Children and Adolescents, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) has become the leading empirically supported treatment for children exposed to traumatic life events. This book featuring a wealth of clinical examples describes ways that TF-CBT is being applied in a range of contexts and with diverse populations. Experienced clinicians provid…

Predictions of physical symptomatology by daily life events and by major life events were compared, replicating and expanding work reported by DeLongis, Coyne, Dakof, Folkman, & Lazarus (1982). Analyses of daily, prospective data collected on 79 married men for 90 days demonstrated that daily, undesirable events were better predictors of symptom frequencies than either past, major life events or daily, desirable events. These results, similar to …
