Using an ethnographic approach, Natal'ia S. Dushakova illustrates the value of studying village dwelling practices visible in everyday and ritual life. Old Believer Lipovans of Moldova and southern Ukraine continue to incorporate religious traditions of their historical motherland in various regions of Russia. However, their customs have been adapted to regional conditions, and some traditions have been taken from local populations
