  • Assessment of rural festival volunteers’ motivation and satisfaction through importance-range performance analysis and impact asymmetry analysis

Seung Jeon, Sojung Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Recreation Research•2026

As festivals become integral to rural tourism, volunteers play an increasingly crucial role. This study examines how six motivational factors – Value, Understanding, Social, Career, Protective, and Enhancement – affect volunteers’ satisfaction through an integrative model incorporating impact-range performance analysis (IRPA) and impact asymmetry analysis (IAA). Data from 376 volunteers in Iowa, Kansas, and Michigan revealed asymmetrical effects …

  • Future Space Tourists’ Motivations, Constraints, and Negotiation Strategies

    Open Access•Chris Slaney, Sojung Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Travel Research Bulletin•2025•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 83

Space tourists’ decision-making would be far more complicated than general tourism, but limited research has investigated the process. This research explored potential space tourists’ decision-making process, grounded in the constraint–effects–mitigation (CEM) model. Through in-depth interviews with 10 individuals who experienced extensive space tourism activities, the grounded theory approach revealed four underlying themes of motivations, const…

  • The role of festival volunteers in supporting rural community development

Sojung Lee, Jichul Jang et al.•ARTICLE•Current Issues in Tourism•2024

Given the limited research that recognizes volunteers as significant workforce assets and sources of human capital in rural communities, this study investigated how rural festival volunteers’ motivation, psychological ownership, and community involvement impact their support of community development. A sample of 373 volunteers from 12 rural festivals in Iowa, Michigan, and Kansas revealed significant relationships among variables that foster comm…

  • Guarea microcarpa C. DC. extract inhibits NLRP3 inflammasome by suppressing its ATPase activity

Open Access•Sojung Lee, Sojin Yun et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

Our results demonstrate the anti-inflammatory effects of GM via suppressing the NLRP3 inflammasome. Therefore, GM can be a potential therapeutic candidate for various inflammatory diseases caused by aberrant NLRP3 inflammasome activation

  • A Mixed Methods Study Exploring the Nature of Black Adolescents’ Unfair Treatment by School Staff

  • An integrated model of travelers’ pro-environmental decision-making process

Eunkyoung Park, Sojung Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2018•Citada por: 6•Referencias: 6

This study integrated Value-Belief-Norm and Modified Norm Activation Model into a theoretical framework to identify the role of the New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) in tourists’ pro-environmental decision-making process. Results of the structural model from 484 sample travelers provide a comprehensive view of travelers’ pro-environmental decision-making process. Findings highlight that the integrated model captures a conceptual foundation by bett…
