Compounded Caregiving
Based on qualitative interviews conducted remotely with twenty-five women heads of migrant-sending households in rural Mexico, we examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender inequities in caregiving and social reproduction. Background: Latinx communities are disproportionately affected by COVID-19 compared with non-Latinx White communities in Oregon and much of the United States. This article compares local volunteer mobilizations offering welcome to forced migrants in the USA (Oregon) and UK (Yorkshire). We describe a Dreamer Ally training provided to staff and faculty on a university campus and present results of a pilot evaluation of this training. This article examines the sociocultural determinants of Nicaraguan women's use of Depo-Provera as a means of contraception. The prevalence of Depo-Provera in Nicaragua is high and increasing compared to other Central American countries.
