  • A probable case of infantile cortical hyperostosis in 2nd–4th centuries AD Romania

Open Access•Ioana Rusu, Claudia Radu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

  • Exploring post‐excavation degradation potential of fungal communities associated with archaeological human remains

Open Access•Cristina Mircea, Adriana Vulpoi et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2019•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 55

Fungal communities associated with three osteoarchaeological samples from distinct archaeological sites (Tărian, Turdaş, Feleacu) in Transylvania, Romania, characterized by similar environmental conditions (wet soils), different historical age and amount of time spent in storage, were examined in order to register site‐ versus storage‐specific species. Physical anthropological taphonomic scoring was correlated with Fourier transform infrared spec…

In this paper, we describe pathological lesions identified in seven skeletons discovered in the Saint Sava necropolis in Bucharest, Romania, dating to the Late Medieval/Early Modern period. The pathological changes observed in the skeletons were analysed using macroscopic examination. Additionally, computed tomography scanning was performed on two individuals displaying advanced lesions on the cranial surface. For the differential diagnosis, we t…

  • Anthropological Analysis of a Skeletal Sample Belonging to the Sarmatian Population Inhabiting the Territory at the East of the Pannonian Basin

Open Access•Claudia Florina Radu, Norbert Szeredai•ARTICLE•Journal of Ancient History and…•2014•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 6

The subject of this paper is the physical anthropological analysis of the osteological material discovered in the year 2010 in the sites B0_7-B0_8 during salvage excavations conducted on the future route of the highway section Arad-Timișoara. In most cases the taphonomic factors did not allow for the preservation of the skeleton, but teeth were present in a much better condition and therefore dental analysis was conducted in order to determine no…
