  • Abnormally weakened sense of agency in schizophrenia

Chaochao Pan, Meimei XUE et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

  • Neural mechanisms of self-processing in autism

Open Access•Yue Yuan, Mingda Tao et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2025

Self-processing in autism affects social interactions. By choosing 8 fMRI studies of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) self-processing, this study used ALE meta-analysis to investigate the brain underpinnings of self-processing in ASD. The findings revealed the following: (1) The capacity to make self-other distinctions and mirroring in social interactions is impacted by inadequate activation of brain areas of the mirror neuron system in ASD, which …

Open Access•Yalian Huang, Aibao Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

These results contribute novel insights into the bidirectional relationships among mental health literacy, social participation, and active aging, as well as the role of SES in moderating these relationships. The findings highlight the need for targeted policy interventions to address socioeconomic inequalities in later life, thereby fostering active aging

  • Aggression and anxiety influence the relationship between interpersonal sensitivity and military morale among new recruits

Open Access•Aibao Zhou, Yue Yuan•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2022

We explored the internal mechanism of military morale by examining the relationships of interpersonal sensitivity, aggression, anxiety, and military morale among newly recruited army soldiers. Participants ( N = 718) completed a self-report survey measuring the focal variables. The results indicate that military morale was negatively related to interpersonal sensitivity and aggression. Further, aggression played a mediating role in the relationsh…

  • Mental Health and Personality Traits during Covid-19 in China

Open Access•Mei Li, Md Zahir Ahmed et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

During the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health problems have increased and are likely to be influenced by personality traits. The present study investigated the association between personality traits and mental health problems (anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) symptoms, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms) through the person-centered approach because this has some advantages over the variable-centered approach.…

Self-face recognition of patients with schizophrenia has always been a controversial topic. Different opinions exist about whether patients with schizophrenia have the ability of self-face recognition. One theory holds that the ability to recognize one’s own face is impaired in patients with schizophrenia, whereas others assert that the ability to process one’s face is intact. The most recent studies on self-face recognition in patients with schi…

  • Self-affirmation buffering by the general public reduces anxiety levels during the Covid-19 epidemic

Shifeng Li, Yiling Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2020

In December 2019, an outbreak of a novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) occurred in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. COVID-19 is characterised by fever and severe acute respiratory symptoms in early stages, which can rapidly progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome that is associated with high mortality. As of 9 February 2020, 40171 cases have been confirmed cumulatively and 23589 suspected cases were collected in China. The wide and rapid sp…

  • Congruency sequence effects in 9~10-year-old children and young adults

Xin Zhao, Lina Jia et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2019

Sequential congruency effects (CSEs) or conflict adaptation effects refer to the ability to flexibly and rapidly adapt interference control. The Gratton effect, as demonstrated using a standard Stroop or flanker task, can be explained in at least three ways. The first explanation is the conflict-monitoring account. A second theory is the repetition-expectancy account. A third explanation rests on the notion of low-level repetition effects and has…

  • Retrieval Practice Promotes Pictorial Learning in Children Aged Six to Seven Years

Open Access•Xiaofeng Ma, Tiantian Li et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2019

Little is known about "retrieval practice" learning strategies in early childhood, and very few studies have tracked them over long intervals. This study explored the promotion of retrieval practices in six- and seven-year-old children's memories of pictures at different time intervals. One hundred and four first-grade students were asked to remember the contents of 15 pictures in four retrieval practice conditions: with feedback, with elaboratio…

  • Morphological awareness uniquely predicts young children's Chinese character recognition.

    Catherine Mcbride-Chang, Catherine McBride‐Chang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Educational Psychology•2003

Two unique measures of morphological awareness, along with other reading-related tasks, were orally administered to 100 kindergarten and 100 2nd-grade Hong Kong Chinese children. These morphological awareness tasks were developed on the basis of 2 special properties of Chinese: (a) the relatively large number of homophones requires speakers to distinguish unique meanings in syllables with identical sounds, and (b) complex vocabulary words are oft…
