  • The secular trend of enterovirus A71 after the implementation of preventive measures in Taiwan

    Open Access•Yali Hu, Ya-Li Hu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

After implementing active enterovirus surveillance and preventive measures, we found that the incidence of EVSC and fatalities due to EV A71 in Taiwan decreased significantly from 1998 to 2020. Continuous surveillance and strengthened infection control policies are still needed in the future

  • Health Care Visits as a Risk Factor for Tuberculosis in Taiwan

    Sung-Ching Pan, Sung‐Ching Pan et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2016•Referencias: 19

Objectives. To assess whether health care visits of nontuberculous patients are a risk factor for contracting tuberculosis. Methods. We identified incident cases of tuberculosis through International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9) codes and prescription of antituberculosis drug…

Understanding the effects of routine human movement on dengue transmission can be helpful in identifying high-risk areas for effective intervention. This study investigated the effects of local environmental and demographic characteristics to clarify the role of the daily commute in dengue transmission. We analyzed…

    Open Access•Mathuros Tipayamongkholgul, Chi-Tai Fang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2009

El Niño is one of the important driving forces for dengue epidemics across the geographically diverse regions of Thailand; however, spatial heterogeneity in the effect exists. The effects of El Niño should be taken into account in future epidemic forecasting for public health preparedness
