  • Impact of a 10-year shift in ambient air quality on mortality in Canada

Open Access•Hong Chen, H-Y Chen et al.•ARTICLE•The Lancet Planetary Health•2025

  • Robust Indicators of Residential Mobility Derived From Longitudinal Canadian Data to Examine Population Health Across the Life Course

    Open Access•Sarah M Mah, Emmalin Buajitti et al.•ARTICLE•Social Indicators Research•2025•Referencias: 5

  • Global estimates of mortality associated with long-term exposure to outdoor fine particulate matter

Open Access•Richard T Burnett, Richard Burnett et al.•ARTICLE•Proceedings of the National…•2018

Exposure to ambient fine particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) is a major global health concern. Quantitative estimates of attributable mortality are based on disease-specific hazard ratio models that incorporate risk information from multiple PM 2.5 sources (outdoor and indoor air pollution from use of solid fuels and secondhand and active smoking), requiring assumptions about equivalent exposure and toxicity. We relax these contentious assumptions by co…

  • Cancer incidence among First Nations adults in Canada

    Open Access•Maegan V Mazereeuw, Diana R Withrow et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Public Health•2018•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 15

  • Mortality following unemployment in Canada, 1991–2001

Open Access•Cameron A Mustard, Cam Mustard et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2013

Consistent with results reported from other long-duration cohort studies, unemployed men and women in this cohort had an elevated risk of mortality for accidents and violence, as well as for chronic diseases. The persistence of elevated mortality risks over two consecutive multi-year periods suggests that exposure to unemployment in 1991 may have marked persons at risk of cumulative socioeconomic hardship

  • Cancer Incidence in First Nations and Métis Adults in Canada

Diana R Withrow, Diana Withrow et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2013

Introduction Cancer incidence amongst First Nations has historically been lower than that in the general population, but preliminary province-level evidence suggests it is rising to meet or exceed that in the general population. Objectives We aim to estimate incidence rates of lung, prostate, breast and colorectal cancers in First Nations and Métis (FN&M) and compare these to the rates in non-Aboriginal Canadians nationwide. Methods A cohort of 1…

  • Socio-economic Inequalities in Cause-specific Mortality

Open Access•Michael Tjepkema, Russell Wilkins et al.•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Public Health•2013•Citada por: 4•Referencias: 17
