Perceived return-to-work pressure following cardiovascular disease is associated with age, sex, and diagnosis
A substantial proportion of people with cardiovascular disease feel under pressure to return to work, and this pressure is associated with age, sex, and diagnosis. The results show that vocational rehabilitation must be improved and emphasize the importance of ensuring that cardiac rehabilitation programmes include all core rehabilitation components
Risk of major cardiovascular events according to educational level before and after the initial Covid-19 public lockdown
BACKGROUND: During the COVID-19 pandemic, decreasing rates of hospitalisations for cardiovascular disease raised concerns for undertreatment, particularly for vulnerable groups. We investigated how the initial COVID-19 public lockdown, impacted the risk of being hospitalised with a major cardiovascular event (MCE: myocardial infarction/stroke/heart failure) according to educational level. METHODS: We grouped all Danish residents according to educ…
Association between Type D personality and outcomes in patients with non-ischemic heart failure
Hospital Variation in Use of Secondary Preventive Medicine After Discharge for First Acute Myocardial Infarction During 1995–2004
OBJECTIVE: To examine temporal trends in hospital use of secondary preventive medicine after discharge for first acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Denmark. DESIGN: Observational study from national administrative databases of 60,339 patients who survived a first AMI at 73 acute-care hospitals during 1995-2004. OUTCOME MEASURES: At least 1 prescription claim for angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, beta-blockers, or statins within 90…
Use of statins and beta-blockers after acute myocardial infarction according to income and education
OBJECTIVE: To study the initiation of and long-term refill persistency with statins and beta-blockers after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) according to income and education. DESIGN AND SETTING: Linkage of individuals through national registers of hospitalisations, drug dispensation, income and education. PARTICIPANTS: 30 078 patients aged 30-74 years surviving first hospitalisation for AMI in Denmark between 1995 and 2001. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE…
