Priority implementation research for measles-rubella microarray patches identified using the Child Health and Nutrition Research Initiative methodology
Background: Measles and rubella continue to be a significant global health challenge, disproportionately impacting marginalised communities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Innovative technologies such as measles-rubella microarray patches (MR-MAPs) are currently in development and can potentially improve immunisation coverage and equity through their unique product characteristics. Nonetheless, the limited evidence around their use c…
Accelerating the Development of Measles and Rubella Microarray Patches to Eliminate Measles and Rubella
Measles and rubella microarray patches (MR-MAPs) are critical in achieving measles and rubella eradication, a goal highly unlikely to meet with current vaccines presentations. With low commercial incentive to MAP developers, limited and uncertain funding, the need for investment in a novel manufacturing facility, and remaining questions about the source of antigen, product demand, and regulatory pathway, MR-MAPs are unlikely to be prequalified by…
Limitations of administrative data to identify measles cases in Ontario, Canada
Ethnic disparities in acquiring 2009 pandemic H1N1 influenza
pH1N1 cases were more likely to come from certain ethnic groups compared to test-negative controls. Insights into whether these disparities arise due to social or biological factors are needed in order to understand what approaches can be taken to reduce the burden of a future influenza pandemic
The Social Determinants of Health and Pandemic H1N1 2009 Influenza Severity
Objectives. We explored the effects of social determinants of health on pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza severity and the role of clinical risk factors in mediating such associations. Methods. We used multivariate logistic regression with generalized estimating equations to examine the associations between individual- and ecological-level social determinants of health and hospitalization for pandemic H1N1 2009 illness in a case-control study in Ontar…
